Welcome to the Winter/Spring 1998 edition of "Alarms Plus Signal"
Message from the President..... I want to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very safe and joyous holiday season and a prosperous, healthy New Year. As a reflection of 1997, Alarms Plus has shown considerable growth in the capacity of new customers in the areas of: Burglar and Fire Alarm Installations. Service and Maintenance Contracts, and Central Station Monitoring Accounts. This could not have occurred without your continued loyalty as an Alarms Plus customer. Alarms Plus has taken over the daily service accounts from two Northern New Jersey Alarm Companies. I am confident that Alarms Plus has been accommodating to those new customers, and make it an easy transition for you as well. Alarms Plus will always continue to give you the bet service available, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assure you and your family or business the security and proper maintenance for your security system. Alarms Plus received a SAMMY Award for Outstanding Achievement in sales and marketing efforts. It is this type of quality I will maintain into 1998 (see article below). As we enter 1998, I invite you to contact me directly at (973) 927-1500 with any of your questions, concerns, suggestions, or comments. I look forward to our future conversations and meetings. I want to thank all my customers who have made Alarms Plus their alarm company of choice. I truly value your business and your friendship. Sincerely, William B. Area Code Change is Now in Effect... How Does This Effect You and Your Alarm System? Please note, the Alarms Plus telephone area code number has been changed from 201 to 973. We suggest to all our Residential and Commercial customers that you update your files with our new area code change. Your alarm panel dials an 800 number, and therefore there is no need to change or adjust your burglar or fire alarm system for this area code change. The Central Monitoring Service will be changing the area codes for the following telephone numbers: your home or business, Police and Fire Department, and your notification back up list. For any questions or concerns regarding area code changes, please call the office at (973) 927-1500.
It's a good idea to test your smoke detector on a regular basis. A good reminder to change the battery is during day light savings time.
Are You Renovating In 1998? Please give Alarms Plus some advanced notification if....
We understand these things do happen and Alarms Plus will schedule your home or business repair into the servicing schedule in order to get your burglar or fire alarm system working properly.
Registering Your Alarm SystemPolice Departments want to know which locations have alarms in their towns. Some towns may (or may not) charge a fee (fee varies from town to town) to process your alarm information. This is between you and your Police Department, not a responsibility of Alarms Plus. Alarms Plus recommends you do register your alarm system with your local Police Department.
Some Suggestions on Improving the Effectiveness and Efficiency for your Central Station Monitoring Service:Update Your Call List:
Inform the Backups/Notification list of their responsibilities. To notify the owner of the alarm activation if on a business trip or on vacation. Instruct your call list of what you want them to do once they are called. House Guests/Cleaning People/Contractors/and your Passcodes. If anyone enters the premises without knowledge of the passcode and alarm is activated the Central Station Monitoring Company will dispatch the police. Alarms Plus suggests separate passcodes to these individuals or use a keypad code as a passcode to cut back on false alarms. Sending the Police/Fire Department once your alarm has signaled. Once an alarm activation signal occurs and the premises is unoccupied, an invalid passcode, or you simply missed the call from the Central Station Monitoring Company the Police will be dispatched. Please do not call Alarms Plus or the Police Department in hope of canceling the false alarm, it's too late! When you go on Vacation and you want the Central Station Monitoring Company to be notified First call Alarms Plus and we will notify The Central Station Monitoring Company. The Central Station Monitoring is a service Alarms Plus provides and the authorization does need to come from the alarm company. People call the Central Station and say "I'm leaving for vacation and no one will be home, if my alarm goes off don't call the premises, just call the police".
